Having moved around a lot growing up, I have a hard time building connections with the spaces I’m in. I’m always aware of how temporary they are, and how in a few years I’ll be somewhere different. I don’t always feel present in the spaces. Instead, I feel as if I’m just passing through, a layover from one destination to the next.
This project is an exploration of that feeling while also an attempt to build connections with the spaces I find myself in. I found myself spending time with the light, reflections, and shadows, all ever-changing, ephemeral elements that can completely transform a space. I spent time in places that have made me or are continuing to make me into the person I am today. I played with the light, danced with it, existed in it, and utilized it to leave my own temporary mark.
